This is SO powerful because you can gently lead the puppy to positive behavior without yelling, scolding, or frustration. You can help her create good habits with ease.

This means no more walking into the living room to a "surprise" on the rug... 

No more hyperactive puppy tearing through every shoe in the house...

All of your puppy issues can be prevented before they even happen.

So how do you identify your dogs triggers so you can prevent bad behavior and encourage good behavior with ease? 
Step 1: Understand how your dog thinks (it's not like we do)...
It's important to first set expectations for what your dog is able to do and understand. We often believe that if we simply yell a command loud enough or say it enough times, the dog will get it...

But this is simply not the way their minds work!

And so we end up frustrated when puppy turns her head to the side and runs off to make another mess.

Step 2: Watch your dog to identify his trigger behaviors
If we pay attention, our puppies will show us that they are about to react in a certain way...

For example, he may start sniffing around the carpet before he has an accident in the house...

He may start mouthing your hands as a sign that he is tired and needs a nap...

There are MANY different signals a puppy can give, which I will clearly outline for you.
Step 3: Practice pro-active training just 10 minutes at a time
Puppies have a short attention span, so the good news is we only have to spend a short amount of time each day on training!

Once you are familiar with your puppy's triggers, you can create a schedule for potty breaks, nap times, and play time. This will create structure for the puppy and prevent accidents and a destructive, overtired puppy...

But your puppy's brain is like a sponge, so it's important to show them the behaviors you want them to do everyday. This is where pro-active practice comes into play.
